One-Stop Integrated Workforce & Welfare Supply Operations
Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
Financial Year: 2026/2027
Last Reviewed: July 2026
This statement is published in alignment with Section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines the actions and operational protocols Southgate Global Services Limited (“Southgate Global”) has taken to assess, mitigate, and prevent modern slavery, servitude, and human trafficking within our business operations and our wider supply chain.
1. Our Business & Supply Chain
Southgate Global operates as a premier workforce management and logistics delivery partner within the UK civil engineering and tier-1 infrastructure sectors. Our core operations include the deployment of skilled structural operatives, the management of site welfare facilities, and the provision of centralised transit logistics (16+ seat minibuses) to active compounds.
Our supply chain includes external recruitment affiliates, PPE manufacturers, vehicle fleet leasing agencies, and localised facility maintenance providers. We recognise that the construction labour and logistics sectors carry an inherent risk of exploitation, and we are committed to maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms.
2. Our Corporate Policies
We have integrated strict ethical governance into our daily operations. The following internal frameworks ensure we conduct business with integrity and transparency:
- Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy: A zero-tolerance directive enforcing fair treatment, transparent payment structures, and the absolute prohibition of forced, compulsory, or coerced labour.
- Whistleblowing Policy: A secure, confidential reporting mechanism allowing operatives, internal staff, and third-party affiliates to report any suspicions of unethical practices, wage theft, or coercion without fear of retaliation.
- Direct-Hire & Fair Pay Protocol: We ensure all deployed personnel are contracted fairly and paid in strict accordance with UK National Minimum Wage and specific framework payment standards. We strictly adhere to the “employer pays” principle for recruitment fees.
3. Due Diligence & Workforce Vetting
To guarantee that no individual deployed by Southgate Global is subject to human trafficking or forced labour, we mandate a rigorous, multi-stage vetting process prior to any site assignment:
- Right-to-Work Verification: Original identity and immigration documents are physically or digitally authenticated to confirm the legal right to work in the UK.
- Financial Independence Checks: We ensure that operatives are paid directly into a bank account registered in their own name, mitigating the risk of wage confiscation by third-party traffickers.
- Address & Transport Monitoring: Through our centralised fleet logistics, our dispatch controllers monitor for anomalies, such as an unusually high number of unrelated operatives registered to a single residential address or transported by unauthorised third parties.
4. Supply Chain Auditing
We expect all our subcontractors, material suppliers, and framework partners to uphold the same rigorous ethical standards.
- All new commercial suppliers must confirm their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 during the onboarding and tender phase.
- Southgate Global reserves the right to terminate our relationship with any supplier or subcontractor found to be involved in, or complicit with, modern slavery or human trafficking.
5. Training & Awareness
We recognise that our dispatch controllers and site supervisors are our first line of defence. We provide targeted training to our operational staff to ensure they can identify the visual and behavioural indicators of modern slavery (e.g., operatives lacking personal identification, wearing unsuitable clothing, or appearing fearful/withdrawn).
6. Board Approval
This statement has been formally approved by the Board of Directors of Southgate Global Services Limited and will be reviewed and updated annually to reflect our ongoing commitment to ethical workforce management.
